Art Walk Coming to Hallandale Beach

Artist's Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with Xavier's Cigar Lounge is please to announce the official launch of Hallandale Art Walk to be held January 10th and the second Saturday of every month thereafter.

Hallandale Art Walk was founded by creative genius Harris Safra the President of Creative Ad SpecialTeez along with the help of Jay Shapiro of Artists Chamber of Commerce. Harris is a cigar enthusiast who recently opened up an artisanal boutique cigar lounge at RK Plaza in Hallandale Beach. Part of the marketing plan for Xavier's Cigar Lounge (named after his grandson) was to host monthly events with free food, live music etc. After a couple very successful events with over 200 people in attendance Harris realized that the plaza itself is large enough to host an art walk and all of the businesses in the plaza will benefit as well as local artisans and the municipality of Hallandale Beach will also benefit via increased monthly tax base.

The January event will feature free food, live music, art booths on display and entertainment.

RK Plaza is located at 800 East Hallandale Beach Blvd

Cost for exhibitor space is only $35.00

Artists Chamber of Commerce cordially invites you to:

Two Year Anniversary Reception - Miguel Rodez Art Project

When:  Saturday, September 20th 2014 - 7pm

Where: 4229 SW 75th Ave,  Miami, FL  33155

With the show POWER PORTRAITS the gallery celebrates its Second Anniversary. Originally, the gallery was intended to run for only 2 years, but its operation period has now been extended. In that brief 2-year period, the shows were a hit with the pubic and the press. The Miami Herald, Art Districts Magazine, Community Newspapers and several culture blogs wrote favorable reviews of the works presented and Frommers Travel Guide for Miami listed the gallery as a place to visit when in Miami. Numerous artists were given an opportunity to exhibit their artwork in shows curated based on specific themes.

POWER PORTRAITS features the work of Miguel Rodez, whose unique contemporary portraits are difficult to ignore. His subjects have powerful looks that engage the viewer in a visual dialogue that compels one to question the complexity of emotion. The penetrating gaze of his characters make the viewer wonder whether or not these figures are daring the viewer to analyze them. Are these subjects overwhelmingly strong, or may one glean from them a sense of vulnerability? Is perception of strength being utilized as a shield to protect sensitivity? These portraits are essentially about being human. They also say as much about the subject of the portrait as they say about the artist. Miguel Rodez uses a bold color palate with iridescent hues over a large textured surface. The result is striking. Even the texture has meaning that is personal to the artist, but a few people have managed to decipher it.

Please share the event or invite some friends or both. It will be greatly appreciated.
